Rained out, and they gave anyway
The first golf outing, run for a local community organization. Eighteen teams signed up. The rain took the day, so the group handed out vouchers, hosted two dinners, and still turned every penny over.

Illness, loss, a bill nobody saw coming. Every year Valley Angels chooses one local family living through it, and we stand behind them completely. No red tape, no overhead, no middleman.
Our mission
We choose a family. We stand behind them. We leave a footprint in someone's life.
Valley Angels for Families started in 2011 as a single golf outing that got rained out. Fifteen years later it is a year round mission run entirely by volunteers, funded by neighbors, and pointed at one thing: making sure a family in the Naugatuck Valley never has to face the worst year of their life alone.
Every dollar we raise goes straight to the family we have chosen. It covers medical bills, groceries, the mortgage, the things that do not stop just because life did. In December it buys toys, so their kids still have a Christmas morning.

Three ways the money finds its way home.

The Annual Golf Tournament
Our flagship fundraiser. Every September the Valley turns out at Whitney Farms Golf Course in Monroe for eighteen holes, a raffle table, dinner, and one very specific purpose.
02The Holiday Toy Drive
Since 2015, every December we collect new, unwrapped toys and gifts so local kids wake up to a Christmas morning that looks like everyone else's.
03Direct Family Support
The part nobody sees. Medical bills, utilities, groceries, rent. We hand it over directly to the family we have chosen, in full, with nothing taken out.
Fifteen years
It never started as a nonprofit. It started as a favor.
Back at Grassy Hill
They came back the next year to a better turnout and a stronger response, and gave every dollar of it to the same local organization.
A new direction, born from loss
After the founder lost his father, the members chose to benefit a church overseas that had meant a great deal to him. It was their best year yet. They formed a committee, and set out to help people and have some fun doing it.
A family, and a mission
Good weather, growing sponsors, and the whole day raised for a local family going through hard times. This was the year the real mission was born: choose a family in need, then give everything to help them.
Thirty teams and a first Toy Drive
Over thirty teams, an incredible raffle, a new logo, and a 501(c)(3) application filed. The proceeds went straight to a Valley family, and that December the very first Toy Drive went out.
Officially a 501(c)(3)
Now a registered nonprofit, the tournament moved to Whitney Farms Golf Course, where it has been held ever since. The day went to a Valley family, with reserves set aside for the years ahead.
A committee that ran the whole day
Around thirty teams and a dedicated committee running every part of the day. Another Valley family was carried through it, and the reserve kept growing so the mission could keep going.
Same weekend. Same mission.
Every September the Valley comes back to Whitney Farms. Every December the toys go out. New family, new year, and the same group of neighbors who never really stopped.
